Today we wear purple

Today we wear purple

Today Area Agency on Aging employees wear purple…

In recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, a day launched by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the World Health Organization at the United Nations.

This year the Area Agency has chosen the theme: Stay Connected – Be Protected.

Being alone and isolated can put you at risk. That’s why we have been working hard to spread this message and give helpful tips to combat loneliness and isolation.

Say Hello – Get to know your neighbors

They might need your help – you might need theirs.

Keep in Touch

Reaching out can help protect you from abuse and exploitation.

Check-in Frequently

Friends and family are never too busy to hear from you.

Don’t let yourself become vulnerable.
It’s okay to say “No” to those you don’t trust.
