Are you one of the 570,000 Caregivers living in Arizona? The Arizona Caregiver Coalition, a project facilitated by the Social Health & Alzheimer's Committee (SHAC), and the Sub-Committee on Caregiving of the GOVERNOR'S ADVISORY COUNCIL ON AGING, will be hosting a Caregiver Rally to raise awareness of the resources available for caregivers.

This is an opportunity to meet with your legislators and hear testimonials from other caregivers.  Free Caregiver toolkits, information on Lifespan Respite Care and other services available, and a special preview of a PBS documentary, are some of the highlights of the Rally.  The event will be held on March 13, 2008 from 9 am-12:30 pm on the Arizona State Capital Senate Lawn, located at 1700 W. Washington Ave.  For more information contact Karissa Bonkrude at the Area Agency on Aging, Region One at 602-264-4357 (HELP) or visit www.azcaregiver.org

The Area Agency on Aging, Region One plans, develops and delivers services for seniors (60 years and older) and adults (18 to 59) with disabilities and long term care needs.  For services available to older adults, call the Area Agency’s 24-Hour Senior HELP LINE at 602-264-4357 (HELP).
