Maricopa Behavioral Health Advocacy Coalition (MEBHAC) is made up of professionals and community members who work together to increase awareness of critical issues facing older adults.
This year MEBHAC is focused on providing accurate information about “Medication Misuse Among Older Adults”.
40 % of older adults can take up to five medications per week. 50% of those medications can be misused. This can lead to falls, hospitalizations, accidental overdoses and long term chronic problems.
The MEBHAC is continually recruiting new members to help with this important initiative. Meetings are held monthly at the Area Agency on Aging, Region One office located at 1366 E. Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85014. The meetings times are 9 am to 10:30 am. The following is a list of meeting dates:
