AREA AGENCY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Many of the Area Agency on Aging's specialized programs need volunteers on an on-going basis. All program volunteers receive appropriate training. If you have time and would like to share your talents, the Agency has many worthwhile opportunities available.
Ombudsman volunteers serve as advocates for people living in long-term care facilities, helping to ensure that the best possible quality of life and care is attained. An initial 16 hours of comprehensive training and 4 hours of in- the-field training, as well as 8 hours of continued training annually, are provided. Ombudsman volunteers are assigned to facilities near their homes. For more information about this rewarding opportunity, please contact Fran Atkinson at (602) 241-6132 or Fran.Atkinson@aaaphx.org
